A man dreams about becoming an explorer all of his life, but the life circumstances get in the way and he never quite achieves his goal. Things change after the death of his wife and after the house he lived in for the most of his life is threatened with demolition. He embarks on a surprising and reckless adventure, and in the process finds out that there are still new lessons to be learned about life and friendship. We've come to expect from Pixar to deliver movies that impress us with technologically advanced animation and uplift us with characters and interesting and novel storyline. In that regard "Up" is a worthy successor to all the previous Pixar feature movies. The technical brilliance of the animation is, as always, amazing, and the attention to details in every scene is simply astounding. The human characters are realistic mostly in terms of their personality, and it is to Pixar's credit that they are not trying to simulate actual human form in all of its details. There is also no cluttering of the story with too many characters: we follow just the few main ones, and this adds to the simple beauty of the narrative.
