If you want to chat with friends, do not buy these. If loud cracking and popping at random times bothers you(even at low volume), do not purchase the X41 system.
The sound quality (when not cracking and popping loudly) is good. However, when chatting with friends they cause major feedback and echoing for your friends. I had to use the original xbox headset at the same time as the X41 system (with one ear to the X41 and one ear to the original xbox headset), which completely nullifies the reason for purchasing this system. Also, the "auto-adjust" on volume was horrible. There were times I could not hear friends over the sound of the game (MW2); and then, all of the sudden, they would be too loud (not to mention they couldn't even listen to me because of echoing and feedback).
