Purchased this game last week new from Amazon and was expecting it to work like the trial version. Had problems installing it on my laptop running Vista 64-bit. Installed it on my desktop computer running Windows XP-pro but was not able to login to access Spore's online features. I called E.A. tech support and did a complete uninstall/reinstall on both computers. I was able to follow their detailed instructions and get both machines to install and open the game but could still not login online features. I then deleted the "login.prop" file they suggested doing, logged-in again and it still doesn't work. It says "product key is invalid" & "you do not have proper privileges to access Spore's online features".
If you like Spores and want to play offline (without sharing and playing with others) then take your chance and purchase the game. If you expect to use all the features that are described for the game, wait until E.A. fixes this problem . If you google what I described, you will see this is not an isolated incident.Get more detail about Spore.
