Read some of the reviews on this game before buying [...], they pretty much nail it. This is a kids game that is a bit too tough for the 6-8 year old crowd. And probably a bit boring for the average >10 year old gamer. The one negative feature that I've read several times and now completely agree with is the camera movement during the Story portion. The camera seemingly acts on its own and changes the point of view in a very disruptive way making it difficult to follow your characters sometimes. I imagine this is even more difficult on a young gamer.
With that said, it is not a complete waste of time. There is a 4 person battle mode (a la Mortal Kombat) where Super Heroes beat up bad guys, bad guys beat bad guys or whatever you want. This can be very fun and each Super Hero has several outfits with different strengths.
In short, this game can't compare with the Lego franchise for young gamers. It does do a great job of introducing these characters to a whole new generation and my kids enjoy it when they finally get it in the console. Unfortunately, it is rarely their first choice.Get more detail about Super Hero Squad.
